For the past 14 years George Smeltzer has been with Richard Bowers & Company as a Senior Vice President in the Office Properties Division, specializing in leasing and acquisitions.
He has more than 39 years of experience in all aspects of commercial real estate brokerage including leasing, sales of income producing properties and land.
He is an Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors’ Million Dollar Club Lifetime member.
George has had total responsibility for office leasing projects totaling more than 7 million square feet in his career including such high profile facilities as Bank of America Plaza and Atlanta Financial Center, both one million square feet plus properties. He is currently in charge of the leasing team for 260/270 Peachtree, an office complex of 630,000 square feet.
From 1991-1994, he was a Vice President for Cousins Properties, Inc., Atlanta, in charge of leasing Bank of America Plaza, the tallest building in the United States outside of New York and Chicago.
From 1989 to 1991, he was the Vice President of Cushman & Wakefield, Atlanta, where he secured the Atlanta Financial Center listing. As head of leasing, he increased building occupancy from 70% to 90%. Also, with Cushman & Wakefield, he participated in the sale of several office buildings.
From 1975 to 1988, he was with Coldwell Banker Commercial (now CB Richard Ellis). During this time, he was the top salesman for two years and one of the top five producers for six years. He concentrated on office leasing and land sales in Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead.
